How long should I wait before rolling my windows
down after tinting?

After getting your windows tinted, you’ll need to be patient for a few days. We recommend
waiting about 3 to 5 days before rolling down your windows. In bright Southern California sun,
the film adhesive usually cures within a few days, but if you roll them down too soon, you risk
the tint film peeling or bubbling at the edges.
● In warm, sunny weather, around 3 days may be sufficient for the tint to fully cure to the
glass.
● If it’s cooler, overcast, or wintertime, err on the side of caution and wait closer to 5 days
(or even a week) to be safe. Cold or humid conditions slow down the curing process a
bit.
During this curing period, the tint film is still bonding to the glass. If you operate the windows
while the film isn’t 100% set, the movement can snag or lift the film, causing wrinkles or
peeling at the bottom edge. It’s a quick way to ruin a fresh tint job.
Pro tip: We’ll put a little reminder sticker on your driver’s window switch that says “Do Not Roll
Down.” It’s tempting to crack the windows, but really try not to until the waiting period is over.
After a few days, you can use your windows normally – the film will continue to harden over a
couple of weeks, but at that point it’s anchored enough to handle movement. Also, avoid
power-washing the windows or using any suction cup mounts (GPS, EZ-Pass) on the tint until
it’s fully cured.
